SUCCESSOR OF ROBERT REWORNDOSKI AT BAYER

Image
The England international is in danger of missing out on major silverware once again in his debut campaign at the Allianz Arena, but he has delivered on a personal level. Kane has found the target on 42 occasions through as many appearances, with 35 of those strikes coming in the Bundesliga. Kane needs six more to draw level with Lewandowski and seven to overtake him. With only three fixtures left to take in, Kane has told Sky Deutschland of whether he can rewrite the history books:  “It's possible, but I have to hurry, I have to score a few goals in the next few weeks. As I said, it's there, it's within reach. But it will depend on the last three games.” For more news details on this sport web you can link with BBC @ www.bbcnews.com , By gloryasibu@gmail.com

"AN ABSOLUTE DIFFERENCE MAKER"

Image
Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund 2024Getty Images Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl described Sancho as "an absolute difference-maker" after brokering the loan deal with United, which was certainly true in his first spell at Signal Iduna Park. Sancho hit 50 goals and laid on 57 assists in 137 appearances for BVB between 2017 and 2021, after making the brave decision to leave Manchester City's academy and build a new life in Germany. He was a deadly weapon for Dortmund during that period, as through a combination of dazzling trickery on the ball and intelligence he was able to carve defences open at will, and more often than not had the end product to match. When United finally secured his signature after nearly two years of negotiations, it felt like a major coup. A difference maker of borrusia Dortmund  But the Old Trafford faithful have yet to see that version of Sancho up close. He's had his moments, the most notable of which saw him score a superb solo goal ...

UN SUNG HEROES OF REAL MADRID

Image
. Lucas and nacho 700 games with 39 titles They have combined totals of 700 appearances and 39 titles for Real Madrid, yet Lucas Vazquez and Nacho still somehow fly under the radar, with far lower profiles than their celebrated team-mates. In recent weeks, however, the long-serving veterans have stepped out of the shadows to play key roles in their team's march towards another league and European double. Victory song for really Madrid goals in titles And although neither may start Tuesday's Champions League semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich, the last decade has shown us that their time will inevitably come... and that they will be ready. It’s time to sing the praises of Real’s unsung duo.

AN EXTRA ORDINARY PASS BY KROOS

Image
Vinicius’ bow to praise Kroos said everything about the assist, and for the Brazilian it was a goal at the Champions League semi-final stage for a third straight season. That came against the run of play, as did Bayern’s leveller after half-time, with Sane sneaking a fierce effort into the near post past Andriy Lunin. Sane's goal against real Madrid with furious effort And just four minutes later, Bayern completed the turnaround, with Lucas Vazquez fouling Jamal Musiala inside the area before Kane scored from the penalty spot with a cool stutter run-up and finish. www.skynews.com  for more related information. The drama was not over though, with Kim Min-jae fouling Rodrygo and allowing Vinicius Jr. to score his second of the night.

HARRY KANE VS BELLINGHAM

Image
England may have no Premier League clubs left in the Champions League but two of the country's biggest stars will go head to head for a place in the competition's final. Harry kane for the first time in 12 years for this champions match level Three Lions captain Harry Kane has been prolific for Bayern Munich despite the German giants failing to win the Bundesliga for the first time in 12 years.Jude Bellingham, meanwhile, has lit up the Bernabeu during his debut season at Real Madrid. England boss Gareth Southgate will no doubt be among the keenest of observers when the pair meet in the first leg in Munich on Tuesday. Both men are set to be key to the Three Lions' Euro 2024 campaign, but who will prevail at club level?

LEICESTER CITY IS BACK IN EPLL

Image
Leicester promotion fuelled by 'pure belief' Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester City celebrates scoring against West Brom Leicester City were in a four-way battle for automatic promotion before beating Southampton to pull clear at the summit la Few sides have been better than Leicester City in getting promoted to the top flight and, arguably, none have done so in such chaotic circumstances. The Foxes' Premier League return was confirmed with two games left, after Leeds United were beaten at QPR on Friday. Wins in their remaining matches would see Leicester equal the record for most league wins in a second division season. Victories would also see them amass 100 points - something that has only been done on six previous occasions at this level, including by Leicester themselves the last time they went up a decade ago. For six of the nine months of this season, Leicester looked destined to smash just about all records on their way straight back to the Premier League. But a mixture of...

THE LATE GOAL BY BURNLEY

Image
Manchester United conceded another late goal as Zeki Amdouni's penalty secured a 1-1 draw for Burnley at Old Trafford.    The late goal penalty to make it 1-1 at old Trafford  Antony recovered from his earlier miss to give United a late lead, finishing despite fighting to keep his balance when through on goal. The Brazil winger, who was signed from Ajax for £86m in the summer of 2022, had not scored in the league since April last year. United once again threw away a late lead after mindless decisions from Casemiro and Onana, whose challenge on Amdouni for the penalty was a carbon copy of the one he avoided punishment for against Wolves on the opening weekend of the season. Win probability Amdouni sent Onana the wrong way from the spot to secure a late draw for Burnley. Neither side was happy with a point as they chased a late winner in stoppage-time but a lack of quality in the final third meant they had to settle for 1-1.

THE TITTLE RACE

Image
Erring holland  came off the bench to score as Man City beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 to remain in control of the   Premier League   title race. Arsenal’s win over Tottenham earlier in the day had piled the pressure back on the Pep Guardiola’s side, who knew even a draw would leave the Gunners in pole position heading into the final weeks of the campaign. There was to be no slip-up though, as Josko Gvardiol headed the visitors in front in the first-half, before Haaland scored with 20 minutes remaining to ease any nerves in the away end at the City Ground. The champions sit just a point behind Arsenal and with a game in hand, away to Tottenham in the final week of the season. Four more wins and it will be a fourth title on the bounce for City.

The chaotic victory ended a four-game winless Premier League run for Man Utd to boost their hopes of European qualification as they moved above Newcastle into sixth.                                            Match highlights of an exceptional come back by man united The Blades - who remain 10 points adrift of safety and are on the brink of relegation - took a surprise 35th-minute lead after an Andre Onana mistake allowed Jayden Bogle to score following the Man Utd goalkeeper's poor misplaced pass to Diogo Dalot.

ATETA'S EXCEPTIONAL RECORD WITH THE BIG SIX

Image
The Premier League ‘big six’ head-to-head table of 2023-24: Arsenal absolutely rampant… Arsenal have an exceptional record in their biggest games of 2023-24, unbeaten in their Premier League clashes with fellow ‘big six’ opposition this season. There’s some debate over whether the concept of the ‘big six’ is relevant in the Premier League in 2024 following Newcastle United’s takeover and qualification for the Champions League, while Aston Villa look a solid bet to finish in the top four this season at the expense of some of the traditional powerhouses. The record of gunners in EPL is much brighter that it was last 2 seasons they have been unbeaten for almost 15 games.

STILL HANGING AT THE TOP OF EPL

Image
Arsenl picked up a huge win over Tottenham in the North London Derby to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table. The Gunners dominated a controversial first half that saw Spurs being denied Micky van de Ven's equaliser as well as two penalty appeals by James Maddison and Timo Werner. However, Mikel Arteta's men still managed to lead 3-0 by half-time thanks to an own goal by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and goals by Bukayo Saka as well as Kai Havertz. Spurs tied to stage a dramatic comeback with Cristian Romero's strike and Son Heung-min's penalty kick but Arteta's men held firm. That's all from us here is the match highlight.

single campaign by a team in English league history. Arsenal picked up their 24th victory of the Premier League campaign; their joint-most after 34 games of a top-flight season.  Of the three times they’ve had as many wins at this stage, two of them have come in the last two seasons under Mikel Arteta (also 24 in 2003-04 under Arsene Wenger). Chelsea have conceded 57 goals in the Premier League this season; their most in a single campaign in the competition (overtaking their 55 from the 1994-95 and 1996-97 seasons).Arsenal have gone on to win all 15 games when they’ve been ahead at half time in the Premier League this season, equalling their best 100% record when ahead at the break in a single campaign (also 15/15 in 2013-14).Arsenal had 13 shots in the first half and 14 in the second half against Chelsea (27 in total) – indeed, these are now their two highest shot totals in a half of football against them on record in the Premier League (since 2003-04).Arsenal’s Kai Havertz became...

MAN CITY OUT OF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Image
Manchester City's reign as European champions is over after they were beaten in a penalty shoot-out by Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday. After  a thrilling first-leg that ended 3-3  in Madrid, Real took control of the tie after 12 minutes thanks to a goal from Rodrygo after fine work from Jude Bellingham in the build-up. But City  deservedly levelled through Kevin de Bruyne with 14 minutes left and the Belgian almost won it for the Premier League side but saw two efforts sail over the crossbar in normal time.

Show caption Europa League Liverpool left needing miracle after Scamacca double for Atalanta Thursday 11 Apr 2024 17.04 EDT Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share via Email Anfield was shorn of its flags and Liverpool lost all of their powers. A thumping first home defeat in 34 matches, against a highly accomplished Atalanta, left the  Europa League  favourites needing another stirring comeback to resurrect Jürgen Klopp’s chances of signing off with a Dublin final. A manager responsible for so many unforgettable European nights during his Liverpool reign is at risk of exiting quietly. Gianluca Scamacca, the former West Ham disappointment, scored twice as Atalanta displayed the cutting edge, tactical discipline, physical power and defensive might that Klopp’s subdued team lacked all night. It was Liverpool’s first loss at Anfield in 26 games this season and their joint heaviest home defeat in European competition. There were no excuses. Klopp admitted his side “lost th...

ARSENAL UNDER 18 RIGHT BACK

Image
Talented  ARSENAL right-back Josh Nichols has confirmed that he is eligible to play international football for the Super Eagles and three other national teams.   The 17-year-old qualifies to represent the three-time African champions through his Nigerian mother, England where he was born and raised as well as Jamaica and Guyana through his father.  It is believed that Nichols's options are option at the moment, given that he has not been called up for any of the aforementioned national teams.  He actually started his career as a striker, and then transitioned into a winger before he was converted into a fullback by the Arsenal youth team coaches at U14 level. Nichols has been a key player for Arsenal youth teams this season, making thirty one appearances combined in the U18 Premier League, U18 Premier League Cup, Premier League 2, FA Youth Cup, EFL Trophy and UEFA Youth League.  He is highly thought of by the Arsenal coaches as evidenced by...

ATALANTA ON JUGEN CLOP WITH THREE GOALS

Image
It was painful lose at unified stadium with three goals to Neal, ATALANTA bit LIVERPOOL upon clop's last dance It was just as well the protesting supporters   brought no flags to Anfield . They may have been at half-mast at full-time to signal the likely end of Jürgen Klopp’s final European adventure as Liverpool coach. If this was Klopp’s last dance on a Uefa night on Merseyside, it was full of missteps – slow, sad and stumbling. Meek applause rather than customary fist pumps reflected the shock after the first home defeat in 34 games. Optimists will dream on and suggest Klopp’s Liverpool farewell will not be complete without a stirring European comeback. Whether they have the capacity to pull it off once more against Atalanta next week is debatable. A fatigued, dishevelled Liverpool were ripped apart by the Italian side, who could have scored more than the three that secured a famous victory. They will back themselves to add to their tally in Bergamo. The defeat is ba...

MIKEL ATETA WORDS AFTER THE DEFEAT

Image
Every word from Mikel's post-Aston Villa presser After seeing us fall to our first Premier League defeat in 2024, Mikel Arteta faced the media in his post-match press conference. He answered questions on the state of the title race, where the game changed and the mood heading into our trip to Munich. Here is everything he had to say: on whether he believes there will be more twists and turns in the title race: That’s a possibility, that’s the reality right now. It was the same a few months back, we knew that this moment could come. Now it’s about reacting and keep believing and doing what we can. on managing the emotions after a defeat: If one result is going to do that then we are not strong enough, that’s very simple. We had one of the best performances in the first half that we had this season by far against a really good team, it should have been three or four or more. It didn’t happen in the second half, momentum shifted, we could not control and generate what we did in the fi...
